Hakushika
An ancient Chinese legend tells of a mystical white deer with spiritual powers. One day Emperor Hsuen Chon (712-756 A.D.) found this beautiful animal roaming the grounds of his palace. Words and a crest engraved on a copper medallion at the base of the antlers of the deer attested that it had survived for over 1000 years. Since that day, "Hakushika" (the white deer) has been recognized as a symbol of "one thousand years of longevity." Hakushika took their name from the legend over 330 years ago, Since then, Hakushika has been synonymous with excellent refinement and legendary quality throughout the world.
