Meet Our Importers


When you travel the wine road it is really nice to travel with guides that know the lay of the land, the people, and the wines. While the staff of Classic travels frequently to visit suppliers around the globe, we also rely on importers that are specialists in a region or style of wine. Here is a listing of the companies we work with and brief notes about their portfolios. Please see your Classic representative for more details about any of these portfolios.


Billington Imports - (www.billingtonwines.com) The first company to import fine Chilean and Argentinean wines into the US back in 1973, today the portfolio includes Germany, Spain and New Zeland. Noted Brands: Alamos, Catena, Rutini, Trumpeter, Cousino Macul, & 2 Brothers.
Chapin Cellars - Specialists in Germany and Alsace (represented by Billington Imports in Colorado).

European Cellars/Eric Solomon Selections
- (www.europeancellars.com) Eric was hailed as one of the most influential people in the wine business by Robert Parker in his 20th Anniversary issue of the Wine Advocate. He specializes in France and Spain where his name is synonymous with full flavored wines that are true to the region. Noted Brands: Janasse, Marcoux, la Garrigue, Castano, Capcanes, Burgans, Clos Erasmus, Artadi, Las Rocas.

Four Quarters/57 Main Street - (www.57mainstreet.com) Specialists in South African wines. Noted Brands: KWV, Tumara, Vergelegen, Groot Constantia, Robert’s Rock.

Louis/Dressner Selections - (www.louisdressner.com) Joe Dressner says, “We have no brands. We are not looking for them. We do have a group of often fanatical growers who are doing their best to make wines that are original because they are honestly crafted.” Noted Properties: Pepiere, Closel, Terres Dorees, Breton, Ch. Negociants USA - (www.negociantsusa.com) This Australian based importer is unusual as it is family owned and managed. They grow the grapes, make the wine, and bring it to market-your guarantee of quality and value. Noted Brands: Yalumba, Oxford Landing, Jim Barry, Henschke, Redbank, mesh, Nautilus, & Palliser.

Pasternak Imports - (www.pasternakwine.com) Pasternak represents a diverse range of wines from around the world. Noted Brands: Champagne Nicolas Feulliatte, Reserve St. Martin, Ch. De Jau, Cognac Brillet.

Paul Hobbs Imports - (www.paulhobbs.com) Paul was the first US consultant to Catena nearly 20 years ago. Noted Brands: Vina Cobos (Includes Bramaere and El Felino, Cocodrillo, & La Garto labels.

Stacole Selections - (www.stacolewines.com) Stacole began directly after prohibition and is now one of the most respected importers of Bordeaux and other French wines. Noted Brands: Montand, Ch Segla, Pauillac (3rd of Latour), Ch Parenchere, Ch Labarthe, Ch Ampelia, Verget.

He is always seeking out intriguiging and compelling wines and in not afraid to take the path less known. He has influenced what Italian wines Americans drink.
