The portfolio of wine brands distributed by Classic Wines, LLC is centered around products that benefit most from special care and promotion. We constantly manage our inventories to prevent any accumulation of slow moving items that drain the financial resources of wholesalers. We will continue to distribute brands that enhance the image and the profitability of the company.
We manage our brands to ensure that no one supplier is in a dominant position. This allows us the freedom to to make decisions that benefit our company, suppliers and customers. Managing our brands also allows us to avoid the diseconomies of scale that can increase operational costs far beyond incremental sales, leading to a decline in profitability and ultimately to a challenge to the company itself.
On-Premise wine sales are a key facet of our company. We understand and emphasize the importance of restaurant account exposure for our brands. Classic Wines was originally structured to devote special attention to on-premise accounts; 70% of our customers are restaurants, and we continue to focus and to promote the on-premise segment of the Colorado wine market despite their current economic difficulties.
We are developing systems, which will take advantage of advanced technologies to improve communications with our customers and suppliers. Future possibilities include a web site to answer common questions and to convey information, "party FAX" or "FAX on demand" systems that would enable us to keep our customers informed of the newest wine releases, features, vintages and pricing.
Over the past ten years we have had great success in building brands. We have introduced brands to the state that are now important in their market niche as well as taking existing brands to new heights. Ultimately this is probably the best measure of a wholesaler and we are very proud of our track record.
As your partner in Colorado it is important for you to know that we have the service that your brand deserves. To this end we have the only wholly temperature-controlled warehouse in Colorado. We have a fleet of 7 trucks that provide service to our account base second to none in the state. We have recently improved our P.O.S. software that now allows us to deliver depletion report information in minute detail electronically.
Education is a key to our preeminent position in the market place. Each month we conduct seminars for our staff that includes readings, tasting, lecture and discussion not only of our brands but also of competitor’s products. For us to be a resource to our customers, we need to know not only more about our products than any one else, but also about the categories in which we compete (and even those we don’t) than any other sales force on the street. It is no wonder that when the trade has a question about wine in Colorado, they most often turn to someone within Classic Wines.
